The recent transition to Elements (formerly FAR/U-CV) for faculty activity reporting also led to a reconfiguration of the Global U Inventory. The Office for Global Engagement is asking U faculty to ensure their international activities are tagged with related countries so that their achievements are included in the new Inventory.
WHAT IS THE GLOBAL U INVENTORY?
The Global U Inventory is a comprehensive, searchable database that maps the university’s international activities, including research, partnerships, and learning abroad opportunities across 171 countries.
Managed by the University of Utah Office for Global Engagement, the tool compiles information from several campus sources to showcase the university’s international footprint. It serves as a central hub for visualizing and connecting global initiatives, international student data, and the activities of over 970 faculty members.
WHY TAG YOUR GLOBAL ACTIVITIES?
The Global U Inventory is used by media, international partners, and fellow colleagues when gauging where our U community has connections, expertise, and partnership potential.
Including your activities in the Global U Inventory increases the visibility of your international work, streamlines reporting for career advancement, and can foster new interdisciplinary collaborations.
HOW TO TAG YOUR GLOBAL ACTIVITIES
You must update Elements and/or MBM and tag your activities with the associated country for them to appear on the Global U Inventory:

- How to tag global activities in your MBM profile
Please note that the Global U Inventory currently refreshes daily, so do not be alarmed if your updates are not immediately visible. Check back in 24 hours to confirm your profile is displaying correctly.
